Proactive Water Replacement Planning Project overview

Proactive Water Replacement Planning

This project focused on moving water-system planning from reactive maintenance toward proactive decision support. The goal was to help identify where replacement work should be prioritized before failures create service disruption.

Analytics framing

Infrastructure planning is a data problem as much as an engineering problem. Useful prioritization depends on bringing together asset condition, operational history, risk, service impact, and planning constraints into a structure that decision-makers can use.

Decision-support value

The value of the work is in making replacement planning more defensible. A clear analytical framework helps teams explain why certain assets should be addressed first, how risk is distributed, and where capital planning can reduce future disruption.

Portfolio relevance

This is an example of analytics for public infrastructure: practical, decision-oriented, and focused on turning complex operational data into planning insight.
